Forest continued their winning ways by seeing off bottom side Barnsley in front of a bumper Tuesday evening crowd of 27,000 at The City Ground. After a quiet opening, Forest took the lead on 15 minutes when Keinan Davis dispossed Mads Andersen, before striding through and slotting the ball into the corner for his first goal in a Reds shirt since joining on loan from Aston Villa. Steve Cooper's side doubled their lead seven minutes before the break as Ryan Yates finished off a flowing move, which involved an incisive Jack Colback pass to release Brennan Johnson down the left, where he put a superb cross in which Yates tapped home, timing his run into the box perfectly. A slow start to the second half saw little action but Forest stepped it up again and added a third on 75 minutes. Djed Spence carried the ball down the right flank, seeing off the attention of several Barnsley defenders, he rolled the ball inside where Johnson stroked it first time into the far bottom corner to cap off a comfortable victory. The Reds saw an effort by Steve Cook saved and a Xande Silva strike hit the post as they went on to secure a win which moves them closer to the Championship playoff places. Steven is joined by Tom Newton to reflect on Forest's win, including the influence Brennan Johnson is having on the side, how Forest got the job done on the night and Steve Cooper's post-match comments, where he made reference to 'that' Charlton game and was keen to avoid a repeat, following the high of the Derby victory on Saturday.
