In episode 112 UNP founder and curator Grant Scott is in his shed considering what constitutes street and studio photography, the importance of the 'personal' in photography and the need to avoid creative templates and labels. Plus this week photographer Nicholas J. R. White takes on the challenge of supplying Grant with an audio file no longer than 5 minutes in length in which he answer’s the question ‘What Does Photography Mean to You?’ Nicholas J. R. White studied for a B.A (Hons) Photography at Plymouth College of Art, and is now based in the Dartmoor National Park, South West England. His work examines the land and the ways in which we interact with our natural spaces. In addition to his personal work, Nicholas also takes on commercial and editorial assignments for clients including TIME, Bloomberg Businessweek, Financial Times Weekend, and the Telegraph Magazine. He has won a number of awards including the Magenta Foundation Flash Forward,2019, Landscape Photographer of the Year, 2018, British Journal of Photography Portrait of Britain Winner, 2018, and Royal Photographic Society Environmental Bursary, Under 30’s Winner, 2017.
