In episode 155 UNP founder and curator Grant Scott is in his shed considering the curse of the pedant within photography, embracing the new, and photography on television. Plus this week photographers Tatsiana Chypsanava and Esther Ruth Mbabazi take on the challenge of supplying Grant with an audio file no longer than 5 minutes in length in which they answer the question ‘What Does Photography Mean to You?’ Belarusian born Tatsiana Chypsanava is a documentary photographer currently based in Nelson, New Zealand. She is a  member of Women Photograph and has been a multiple winner and finalist in the New Zealand Geographic Photographer of The Year Awards. In 2020 Chypsanava was commissioned to create images by the Wellcome Photography Prize in which alongside four other international photographers she created a body of work for their COVID-19 Anxiety Project. Her images have been published and exhibited internationally. https://tatsiana-chypsanava.format.com Esther Ruth Mbabazi was born in Uganda in 1995 and is now based in Kampala. Her documentary work explores changing conditions on the African continent, with a focus on the social, physical and emotional aspects of daily life. Mbabazi is a National Geographic Explorer, a Magnum Foundation Photography and Social Justice Fellow and a contributor to Everyday Africa. She is one of six photographers in the 2020 cycle of the World Press Photo 6x6 Africa.
