Chosen? The voice of young adoptees

It is important to hear the voice of young adoptees discuss there experiences to inspire others, educate society and help us develop better ways at serving their needs in their families, communities and governmentally. I’m excited to have Charlotte Ansell and Janett Plummer the project organisers/editors on the show along with Estelle one of the young people to discuss new work - ‘Chosen?’ an anthology of writing by adopted young people out in March. Estelle reads the poem and talks openly and honestly about her adoption, what she remembers and how she feels about adoption today. There are so many wonderful insights about what lessons can be learnt concerning UK adoptions along with some beautiful messages for adoptive parents too. I was also asked to write in the preface for the anthology; ‘The young people in this book will force you to see and feel into a land beyond your own. This is a read that must be read.
