6. Larry Walters: Woodhull Freedom Foundation v. The United States

All In A Day's (Sex) Work - Podcast tekijän mukaan Blair Hopkins

Mr. Walters Goes To Washington: Since being signed into law in 2018, SESTA/FOSTA has wreaked havoc on internet speech and done untold damage to the safety and finances of consensual adult sex workers. The law holds platforms liable for any speech that could "facilitate" prostitution, regardless of the platform's knowledge, and has multiple provisions that violate the Constitution. Walters Law Group is leading the charge against this law, serving as counsel for Woodhull Freedom Foundation et. al v The United States, with acclaimed first amendment lawyer Larry Walters at the helm. Today, Walters and I discuss the damage caused by SESTA/FOSTA, and the progress of the case against it, including a recent major victory.  References:  FirstAmendment.com  StopSESTA.org Woodhull Freedom Foundation Electronic Frontier Foundation Today’s episode was produced by me, Blair Hopkins, and brought to you in part by SWOP-Behind Bars.
