Living in Jesus' Name

"We are called into action in anticipation of this kingdom to come. So what are we called to do in Jesus' name? What are we called to do to protect our transgender siblings? Will you stop to ask the trans woman being harassed by the police if she needs any help? Will you make sure the trans youth experiencing homelessness in your community will have somewhere to eat a meal once this week? Will you accompany a trans person to immigration court to provide support and care? There is so much that we can do. Sometimes it can feel a little bit overwhelming. But as our Jewish siblings say, 'Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world's suffering. You are not obliged to complete the work, but neither are you free to desist from it.'"
