The addiction to understanding stuff -- if you use understanding as a way to connect to people, this clip might surprise you

All Things Human with Adele Wang - Podcast tekijän mukaan Adele Wang

In our highly intellectualized culture, even basic connection with people has become somewhat of an exercise in understanding people. Many of my clients expend a lot of energy trying to understand people, themselves and the world as the main strategy for how to live a connected life. Understanding is seen as a superpower to everything. And it makes sense, since much of our discussions in personal and spiritual development  often center around "understanding" things.  This might be in understanding concepts, psychology, spiritual models, etc.  Often people feel very uncomfortable if they don't understand something. It causes tremendous anxiety, self-doubt and shame. There's a sense that if something doesn't make sense, there's something wrong.  This is very common among spiritual people who often feel they have a deep capacity to understand themselves and others.  That may be true. But at some point, the ability to understand things reaches its limit.Presence is a different engine than understanding. Presence invites a different connection than that which comes from understanding. Listen in for this distinction to discover whether you lean more on understanding or more on presence to create connection with life and others.  ***If you're serious about experiencing presence instead of trying to understand what it is,  don't miss this upcoming experience:Next Spark Your Feminine Presence group: https://adelewang.lpages.co/introduction-to-spark-your-feminine-presence/I've helped thousands of professional, spiritual, perfectionist women (and some amazing men) create happiness and success in an imperfect world.
