Paola Diana is an entrepreneur, author, broadcaster, and women’s rights advocate. Her book - Saving the World: Women: The Twenty-First Factor for Change focuses on how misogyny still permeates our society. In this episode we talk about living in a sexist society, gender ideology and gender stereotypes, and the need for men to speak out against other men who perpetuate violence towards women. Paola is very outspoken and critical of the ‘woke’ movement and shared her views about gender affirming surgeries and whether you can be born into the wrong body. I must admit - I was triggered by the conversation. As as cis-gender woman I do not have any idea of what it is like to be transgender and discussing this topic made me feel deeply uncomfortable. I decided to go ahead and release the episode because it’s a topic that (at least for me) leads to more questions than answers. My hope is that it opens up more conversations about how to live in a world with more understanding, more diversity and more acceptance of a multitude of perspectives. What do you think - is Paola’s stance advocating for women’s rights or perpetuating inequality? And is the answer that simple?
