In this session, we discuss “The State and Revolution” by Vladimir Lenin, leader of the Bolshevik Revolution. “The State and Revolution” was published in 1917, the same year the Bolsheviks took power in Russia. In his book, Lenin explains the Marxist theory of the state and the tasks of the working class in the revolution. Lenin also discusses the role of the state in society and the theoretical inadequacies of social democracy and anarchism in achieving revolution.
