Hurricane Fiona, Reality Bias and Social Media

Aquarian Diary - Podcast tekijän mukaan John Irving

I discuss the experience, impact and implications of the record breaking post-tropical storm "Fiona" which struck the Canadian Maritime provinces over the weekend.  As well, I speak about my perspective on current political and social polarization and whether it is ethically justifiable to maintain a bias about this situation, or not.  Finally I discuss our dependence on social media platforms and whether we should be taking them for granted, or not. CORRECTION: At the 6:31 minute mark I state “... the coastal waters… have been as high as six to 8, or even 10° Celsius warmer than normal… “. I should have said “FAHRENHEIT” there, not Celsius. Apologies, I was using both systems a lot in this episode and misspoke there. That is still an alarmingly significant increase however!  This correction was posted on Sept 26, 2022 @ 8:21pm EDT. -------- Some links relevant to this episode: In Photos: Atlantic Canada recovering from storm Fiona's path of destruction How Hollywood Sold Out to China How U.S. Tech Giants Are Helping to Build China’s Surveillance State.html Russia plans to draft 1.2 million people into its army Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale Join My Contact List Follow me on Twitter Aquarian Diary
