This Fall, the Board of Directors of the National Sailing Hall of Fame, led by Gary Jobson, announced that they will be moving from Annapolis, MD to the waterfront of our hometown, Newport, RI. Gary has been involved with sailing his entire life. A two-time Collegiate Sailor of the Year, he had a fortuitous meeting with the “Mouth of the South,” Ted Turner, that lead to him being the Tactician onboard the 12 Meter COURAGEOUS during the successful defense of the America’s Cup in 1977 at the young age of 26. Gary has gone on to bring sailing to the masses by writing numerous books about the sport, and announcing for the largest sailing events around the world for network TV, including the Olympics, The America’s Cup, and the Volvo Ocean Race. In Episode 18, Tyler and Carter talk to Gary about the NSHOF’s move to the Armory Building in Newport, and his illustrious sailing career. Listen in!
