Happy Mural Month! Today’s episode is all about everyone’s favorite topic: art money. “How do I price my art project?” is typically the question I get asked the most, so let’s chat about it. Here’s a few tips and general overview of the things I go over in this episode:My 3 main methods of pricing:Square Foot- 100 sqft x $25 per sqft = $2,500Time- How much time will it take me to complete this project?By Project- What are the general budgets for this type of project?Factors to consider:Experience- The better you are, the more you can charge.Location- The higher the cost of living in an area, the more you can charge.Popularity- The more sought after you are, the more you can charge.Bid Strategies:Over/Under- Give a starting price and a max price to help gauge where their budget falls within the two.High/Low Options- Give a simple sketch and an amazing sketch to help the customer visualize what a low and high budget can get them.Base Price + Add-ons- Give the price for the bulk of the mural then additional charges for smaller details.BIG TIP! - Give the price over the phone or in person to gauge their reaction in real time and play on that. This helps eliminate ghosting!Download the pricing guide: www.ArtPricingGuide.comwww.ArtistAcademy.co
