231. The Gift Box: a bedtime story and relaxation for kids

Narrator: Male Story Begins: 10:12 The Gift Box Excerpt: Sunshine flickered through the drapes and tickled the cardboard box as he rested in the living room.  The dad walked in and opened the drapes, flooding the room with light.   The little kitty resting in the cozy cardboard box purred as the sunbeam warmed his belly.  Chance loved hearing the kitty purr. The cardboard box wondered what adventure today would hold.  At that moment the dad walked over to the box and gently picked up the purring kitty.  “I need to borrow your bed.”  He said as he placed the kitty down on the couch.  Then the kids came around the corner laughing. When they saw their dad picking up the box the kids said, “Hey that’s our cardboard box!”   “I know. I just need to borrow it for today.  Then you will get it back. OK?”   “I guess so.”  The little boy said feeling disappointed.   “We can find something else to do.” The little girl said, and off they went.  Chance felt disappointed too.  He had been hoping for another adventure with the kids. “Oh well.”  The box thought, “I wonder what we’ll do now.” Today’s Meditation: Feel your muscles relax as you check in with your body from head to toe.
