As a storm rolls by, Bliss Blanket hugs her little girl. They both feel better knowing they have each other. Hello everyone! We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Rumbling Skies” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday! Narrator: Male Story Begins: 8:31 Rumbling Skies Excerpt: Bliss the blanket was folded nicely on the little bed. She had had a bath in the washing machine, a warm tumble in the dryer, and now felt ready to relax. Bliss took a deep dragon breath in and out as a soft pitter patter sound filled the room. The little green blanket gazed outside and noticed rain drops filling the air. Little drops of water dotted the window, and then they began to roll downward. Each drop grew larger and larger as it rolled down, until it splashed on the windowsill. Bliss wondered what was happening outside as the light grey sky grew darker and darker. The rhythm of the rain increased, faster and faster the drops fell drumming on the roof of the house. With a flash the room lit up, and then grew dark again. Then the little green blanket heard a rumble in the distance. The deep sound rolled closer and closer. With the next flash, Bliss looked around the room to see if everyone felt ok. She knew that thunderstorms could seem scary. All the toys seemed to be fine. Thunder rumbled again, a little louder this time. The little green blanket took a deep dragon breath in and out as she settled herself down. Then Bliss realized the little girl wasn’t in the room. The blanket knew that the little girl was afraid of thunderstorms, and hoped she was feeling safe. Once again lightning flashed, lighting up the room. The blanket could see all the toys clearly in that flicker of light. They all looked surprised as the thunder rumbled so loudly the house shook. Just then, the little girl opened the door and ran into her room. She quickly hopped up into her bed, grabbed Bliss the blanket and held her tight.
