Ruby June learns another way to share stories when her new friend Henry shows her a special book. Narrator: Female Story Begins: 4:04 Book of Music Excerpt: Ruby June lived in a little house between the library and school on Ahway Island. Her mom, Ms. Guerdy, was a teacher in the Ahway Island primary school. She always brought books home from the library or school for Ruby June to read. Ruby June loved to read. She read as many books as she could get. Every time she finished a book, she would place it in a stack in her room. After a couple of weeks, she would have a tower of books as tall as she was! Then her mom would take the books back to the library or school and Ruby June would start a new tower. Ruby June didn’t have many friends, but she loved her mom and her books very much. While Ruby June read many books by herself, she really enjoyed it when Mom would read a new book out loud to her. Mom was very good at reading stories out loud. She used different voices for different characters and sometimes added sound effects. Today’s Meditation: Love flows through you in this meditation as you imagine a baby fawn and mama deer.
