Is it possible to find reality without the help of another? Logically the answer must be yes. Which can be confirmed by knowing there was a first-time that reality was found, or any other thing for that matter. The fact that there was a first-time for everything demonstrates that much can be achieved without someone guiding the way. Though we must admit things are much easier when good directions or examples are on offer. And this brings us to bad examples and untrue things, which we are surrounded by daily. The truth about untrue things is that they lack that certain something that is found in true things. It is detectable. And while it is a bit like a smell or a sound, it is a different innate sense, not tied to material reality. But again, it is like smelling something burning in the kitchen, or hearing a cracked bell ring. There is no denying these things when they have been detected. And while we are born with the senses I have used as examples, the ability to sense untrue things is a sense that must be developed. It might be said that to develop this sense belief must be overcome and mastered. Believing in things is a roadblock that has been trained into us all in the modern era. After all, much of modern schooling is about belief and memorization, not critical thinking. If one begins to question and carefully consider things, this is where the ability to detect untrue things begins. And I apologize for the over-use of the word “things”, but I think you get the point I am trying to make. I suspect there was a time when most adults had the ability to detect falsehood. I think it could also be said this ability is partially a spiritual ability. It is also based on freewill, if you chose to use it. So, I ask, is belief the truly enemy of knowing? When all is said and done, only you can choose to accept the “things” that you choose to accept. In the same way, if you choose not to write your own story, it will be written for you. This is why it is critical to be able to detect the ring of truth. Truly, the bell tolls for thee. Maybe this is a good place to close with an old lyric. Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me, Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee; Sounds of the rude world, heard in the day, Lulled by the moonlight have all passed away
