About this conversation: Five Times August is the pseudonym of Dallas-based pop singer-songwriter Bradley James Skistimas. Following a series of independent releases in the early aughts, he gained notoriety after every song on his long-player Fry Street (2005) was featured on the popular MTV series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. Brad is as indie as you can get. He passed up opportunities with major labels to go at his career alone. Brad has written and produced several politically charged songs in the last few years and it was a real privilege to be able to speak to him. I hope you enjoy the music and conversation.
