Stacy Tuschl is a speaker, business coach, and the owner of The Academy of Performing Arts in Wisconsin. She is the author of the book “Is Your Business Worth Saving?” where she reveals proven strategies for pulling entrepreneurs out of a rut and launching them toward business success.
Today we’re going to be talking about the three steps that are really important when you are delegating. It’s not as simple as giving someone a list of things to do and they will magically have it delivered to you within 24 hours.
Some highlights include:
The first step is getting clear and organized with what you need to happen. If you don’t know what needs to get done, how is the other person you are trying to hold accountable supposed to know? (minute 1:00)
The second step is communicating with the person you are delegating with. You need to make sure you give them an opportunity to ask any questions before agreeing on it. Don’t make it one sided. (minute 3:00)
The third step is the follow up. When you come to an agreement, actually follow up at the time it’s supposed to be complete if you haven’t heard or received the completed project. Need some tools for keeping track and following up? At minute 4:00, I talk about the tools that I use.
