Do you know why most people fail with their goals? Keep that question in the back of your mind when I tell you about a call that I had around 6 months ago – it was a consult with a small business owner. We started to peel back, layer by layer where she was in her business and where she wanted to be. And like most of the passionate entrepreneurs that I work with, she wanted to have a six figure business and she wanted it now. However, there were many gaps that she needed to fill before she could get there.
Today, we’re going to be talking about how important it is to take the time to create a strategy to succeed.
Some highlights include:
When I can hear it in someone’s voice that they want to give up, my heart is breaking for those people. That was part of the reason why I wrote my book “Is Your Business Worth Saving.” I’m hoping and praying that I can help people turn their business from a struggle to success, but it doesn’t happen overnight. Most entrepreneurs these days create these big, bold goals without taking the time to create a strategy and honor the steps that go into each phase. It literally equals deliberately setting yourself up for failure. I’m not asking you to play it small or set these realistic goals – I want you to dream big, I don’t want you to play small. I’m all about expanding your vision and dreaming as big as you can, but then that dream also has be broken down into bite size goals so that you can effortlessly achieve it. (minute 4:00)
I love when people dream big and say their goal is seven figures and that’s amazing, but let’s make sure that we hit four, five and six before we start hitting seven. (minute 6:00)
