Welcome back to another episode of the Foot Traffic podcast!!

I have so many small business owners who come to me and say negative things like, “My team is just not performing!” or “My team is not bringing value the way I know they should.”  And more often than not, I have to be brutally honest and tell them I need them to change before they can even think to see their team change. I let them know there are several things I need them to do to start showing up and really be the leader that they need to be.

There’s this phrase that says, “If a flower doesn’t bloom it’s not the flower’s fault, it’s the environment.”

Now, disclaimer: Yes, there will be a few times when someone slips through the cracks and you hired the wrong person.  But that is not what I see most often.

Typically, with just a few tweaks in the environment of your team, you will see massive changes to their behavior and action.  And that’s exactly what we are talking about today.

Here are a few highlights you won’t want to miss:

"If you want your people to be more accountable..." at 4:51 Stacy tells you the #1 question to ask yourself when determining if you are holding your team accountable.  She explains the importance of your company's org chart so your employees know their role, the manager's roles and who is responsible for every aspect of the business.

"Assess what they are up to..."  at 7:52 Stacy talks about what activity you should be doing every quarter with your team to ensure productivity and accountability.  She discusses what her team does quarterly, monthly, weekly and shares how to set specific KPI's for every individual.

"Setting bad boundaries make people think it's okay..." at 14:08 Stacy discusses how to get your team to stop constantly reaching out to you about things you don’t need to know.    She shares what happens with her team and how to make team members accountable for their actions.

Last week we discussed 7 strategies to hold yourself accountable! If you happened to miss that episode, I would click here and go listen right away. Today’s episode we are going to talk about holding your team accountable, which truly begins with you leading by example and holding yourself accountable. So, I highly recommend you go listen to that episode first!
