Gifts of Christmas: The Gift of Peace

Restoration – 2 – The Gift of Peace Introduction: Christmas is drawing near and the final days to get those gifts are fleeing quickly. Last week we talked about the gift of hope and how hope is the one thing that keeps us all going. Today we are talking about the gift of peace. In our advent scripture, we read from Isaiah and the prophecy talked about how one of the many names of Jesus would be the Prince of Peace. When we think about the gift of Christ, not only do we get to receive Christ, not only to we get to receive hope, but we also get to receive Peace. Scripture: – Micah 5:4-5a Points: 1. The gift of peace is beyond this world! – Philippians 4:6-7 – John 14:27 2. The peace of Christ doesn’t look like the peace of the world! – Matthew 10:24-36 – John 16:33 3. Peace is a gift that grows! – Romans 5:1-2 – Psalm 4:8 4. Peace is a gift that we are called to give! – Colossians 3:15 – James 3:18 Ending: Peace is something that everyone wants! Its is something that we all desperately crave.
