Yet, he starts his adult married life by committing a crime leading to a sentence of seven years in prison. While in prison, he rebels and spends the next several years between a psychiatric hospital, prison, and solitary confinement. With a release from prison, he soon becomes a bare-knuckle boxer at the urging of an old prison mate who dubs Peterson with the new name Charles Bronson. Finding his way back to prison, he undertakes a series of violent endeavors, each more violent and bizarre.
