Today we are taking a deep dive into melatonin for women going through menopause who seem to have some of the most problematic sleep with Dr. Deanna Minich who is a certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (IFMCP), a nutrition scientist, international lecturer, educator, and author, with over twenty years of experience in academia and in the food and dietary supplement industries. So she really knows what is going on behind the scenes of supplement formulations and will give us the truth on this. She is now the Chief Science Officer at Symphony Natural Health, a company that makes health and wellness products. She has been super active as a functional medicine clinician in clinical trials and in her own practice with a company called Food & Spirit™. She is the author of six books on wellness topics, four book chapters, and over fifty scientific publications. She has a crazy full academic background. She studied nutrition science, including a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Illinois at Chicago (1995) and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Medical Sciences from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands (1999).
