As part of the celebration of Hip-Hop’s journey through the years, artists, cities, events, and stories, were asking artists, actors and anyone who’s willing, to share some of their firsts when it comes to the influential and trailblazing genre and culture that is Hip-Hop. Joining in on the celebration and conversation, actor and stand-up comedian Bill Bellamy shared the first song that made him fall in love with Hip Hop, as well as his first memory of when he thought to himself, "this is Hip-Hop.” “One of the first songs that made me fall in love with Hip Hop is ‘Rapper’s Delight,’" Bellamy shared, before belting off the tracks beginning bars. Adding, “That s*** made me go crazy.” Also sharing “one of the craziest things to ever happen to me” and “made me fall in love with Hip-Hop.” Bill recalled, “I’m shooting Da Brat video, ‘One for the money, Two for the bass… Three to get you going,'" Bill sang, the song title of “Give It 2 You.” “Biggie’s in the video, Mary’s in the video, Faith’s in the video, Tupac’s in the video,” Bellamy listed off. “And I’m in the trailer with Biggie and Tupac and they’re rolling blunts together, laughing and cracking jokes, and there was no beef. And I’m looking at this moment and going, ‘how lucky am I to be in the midst of two legendary rappers?’ — Facts.” Words by Maia Kedem
