Dr. Simon Rosalie joins the Mental RACE Podcast to discuss about how to reach an optimal mental and physical state in moments that count. A state which allows you to manage your finite attentional resources wisely and do the right thing at the right time in order to perform at your best. What is the science behind human decision making and attentional resources, and how to use that information to facilitate high performance? How do the best performers in the world do decisions and guide their attention? How could an ice hockey player prepare to maximise their changes to score in a game? How about Formula-1 and other car racing, what are key things to pay attention to in cornering, race start and overtaking situations? Should you focus more on the opponents or on yourself? What is "too much focus" and what is too little? How to engage more with your instincts and shut down the ruminating brain? What does imagery training have to do with this? What is quiet eye technique? Why lack of neck strength might limit your attentional resources in elite motor racing? How can you apply the principles of decision making and attentional resources to facilitate corporate high performance, such as delivering a sales pitch or handling a tough negotiation? Join my discussion with Dr. Rosalie and find out the answers to the above and more!
