147 - Female Bathrooms

Isn't it funny that women always seem to complain about men in male locker room talking about women. After all male locker rooms are probably one of the last true male spaces left on the face of the earth. But men don't really raise a a stink about women talking to each other in the ladies room. This double standard proves to me that women want to control all the physical spaces in our society. And one of the places they use to control men and gossip to each other about how to control men is the ladies room. I believe that more important decisions in history have been made in women's washrooms then in palaces and government legislatures. Ladies rooms are the perfect place for women to tell secrets to each other and plan their manipulation of men and each other. All women have to do is check the stalls for feet and they can speak to each other and share all the juicy gossip they want. Men on the other hand don't talk to each other in the bathroom very much and instead use locker rooms to talk about women. And usually this is in high school when boys are talking about their usually non-existent sexual encounters with prudish teenage girls. Women are usually more concerned with emotional and social capital and men are concerned with physical and financial capital. And men often talk to each other about physical capital in public or semi-public places like board rooms and offices. Places that are often open for women to enter. But women talk often talk about social capital at the girls night out or in the ladies room. Back when I was in a relationship I can't tell you how many times my ex-girlfriend would say sorry you can't come out with me or my friends tonight. It's ladies night and there are no guys coming. Sorry! But when I said that she would belittle my friends and say, I can't believe you're still friends with those losers or why don't we all go out together. At that point I would say: "Last time I went out with my friends you called them losers and yet tonight you want us all to go out together? Of course she would say I never called them losers and pretend like what she said in the past never happened. Here's a bold statement on my part. I don't think that the long lineups into the ladies room have anything to do with using the stalls. I think it comes down to gossip. And if you're in a crowded bar or party then women are usually clawing at each other to get into the bathroom so they can strategize about the men they want in the room and they don't care if there are thirty or forty women waiting outside in the line to get in. They know that those women are don't really need to pee and are just going into the bathroom to shoot the shit with their girlfriends.
