The 365 Days of Astronomy - Podcast tekijän mukaan 365DaysOfAstronomy.org

Hosted by Dr. Jacinta Delhaize, Dr. Tshiamiso Makwela & Dr. Daniel Cunnama. Part 3 – SKAO Construction Commencement Ceremony In the third and final part of the SKAO Construction Commencement Ceremony series, Jacinta sits down with Professor Phil Diamond, the Director-General of the SKAO to discuss his thoughts and feelings around the construction commencement ceremony in Australia and on the future of the project as a whole.   Professor Phil Diamond has been a strong supporter of the SKA (Square Kilometre Array) since it was first proposed in the early 1990s and officially joined the project in October 2012. He has led the project through its various design stages up until this point where construction is finally commencing.   In this episode, Prof. Diamond shares his experiences with the site selection, his thoughts on the commencement ceremony as well as insights into the intricate design of the “Christmas tree” antennas of the SKA-Low Telescope.
