We talk about how The Mahones formed by chance, his early career fear of being dubbed “fake Irish,” playing in a band with Gord Downie at his Dad’s Irish pub in Kingston, the strangest gigs he’s been offered, and how it came to be that their song “Paint The Town Red” was used in the final fight scene of the Oscar-winning film, The Fighter.
