012 - Paging Dr. Bob
Kategoriat:
So today’s quick tip is: Don'y be like Dr. Bob. Get there early to prepare and to handle anything before the lesson or event starts.
The members are the headliners and you are there to set it all up so that you can ensure a successful event and allow them to have a great performance.
1. Private Lessons
- Know who you have
- Know what you worked on last week
- Ask them if they had a chance to do their homework
2. Group lessons
- Have to be on the same page with other pros
- Make sure court is prepared
- Talk to the members BEFORE you get started
This also gives you a chance to talk to the members BEFORE the lesson starts, strengthening your relationship and not wasting their time during the lesson with a bunch of small talk.
3. Socials
- Ordering food and beverage
- Get prizes ready
- New balls out (and warm-up balls)
- Get a list to the front desk (The easier you make it n them the better). They are Your best ambassadors
- Be ready to adjust the numbers
4. Tournaments
- Make sure the club is prepared. Balls up, nets measured, t-shirts....
- Info sheets out
- Officials are set
- There early for players who want to check in and warm up.
5. Rain Days
- Check the forecast
- Get there early to prepare courts
Bottom Line: Getting there early and helping prepare for the lessons or other events will only have a positive impact on you as an intern or teaching professional and create goodwill with the rest of the staff. When they have to cover you, too many times, it may make for some long recovery time.
