Today on the podcast is the top-ranked high school girl in the country, Rylee Blade!  Before she got into the sport, she played soccer for 10 years at a highly competitive level.  In her short time as a runner, she has lit the high school world on fire. She was the CIF State Champion in the 1600 and 3200m in 2023, and won the 3200m again in 2024. She was also the 2023 CIF XC State Champion and will look to defend her title in 2024. This past spring, she became the 2024 Nike Outdoor Nationals 5k Champion.  So far this season, she won the prestigious Woodbridge Invitational running 15:20.3 to set a meet and national record by eight seconds.  Rylee has run 2:14.61 (800m), 4:46.54 (Mile), 10:02.19 (3200m), and 15:20.3 in the 3 Mile XC.  Rylee is committed to run for Flordia State University next fall.  In today's conversation, Rylee takes me through her journey in sport, her national-record and what went into it, how she deals with setbacks, her ambitions for the rest of her season and future, the training she's been doing, and much more!
