On the 6th January 1931, Evelyn Foster worked as a taxi driver at her father's car hire company in Otterburn, Northumberland. She was an independent woman who ran her own part of the business. On that evening she took a fare; a man who wanted to be take over 20 miles away. Evelyn decided to drive the man however it would end in tragedy with Evelyn losing her life.
