Episode 16 - Jack Daniel’s mentor and the largest volunteer army in history

Chris investigates the life of the slave, Nearest Green, who mentored Jack Daniel and enabled him to make the famous whiskey and how even today, Nearest’s relatives are still working at the company! Harrison meanwhile tells us about the largest volunteer army in the history of the world that was deployed by the British Empire during World War II. The bravery of some of the soldiers was rewarded with the Victoria Cross but the majority were not paid the same as their British counterparts. Meanwhile Chris tells us about some of the craziest things the CIA has done, that we currently know about, including a very expensive cat who met a sticky end and their very own airline!
