Every week comedian Yael Gavish talks with a comedian that has at some point been asked “Where Are You REALLY From?” Whether it's due to an accent, skin color, the outfit they are wearing or various other factors. Each conversation explores personal stories about travels, family life, cultural experiences and funny stories that have happened along the way. CHICAGO SPECIAL Today, still in Chicago, I talked with the very funny lady Sophia Smarandescu! I actually met her last August at the Chicago Women's Funny Festival at the Stage773 but she disappeared after her show and the next time I saw her was my second tour in Chicago. Which wasn't really in Chicago. We both did Marcos Lara's (few episodes earlier) show in Rockford, IL. ANYWAY! Sophia is a super funny and talented girl and a local comedian in the Chicago area. I had such a great time to record such a funny episode with her and learn a lot about the Romanian culture she grew up with and to teach her about the Ashkenazi culture that I'm trying to avoid.
