Russia orders checks after fuel leak

Russia ordered checks on facilities built on permafrost after a fuel spill in the Arctic. Ivan Blokov is director of Greenpeace Russia, and tells us about his organisation's concerns about the spill. Also in the programme, the international shipping industry has warned that travel restrictions introduced in response to the coronavirus are having a disastrous impact on staffing merchant vessels safely. The BBC's Arunoday Mukharji reports on stranded Indian sailors hoping to get home to their families. On World Ocean Day, there's a warning that strict hygiene requirements brought in to protect people during the pandemic could be adding to the mountains of plastic waste in our seas. Natalie Fee is founder of City to Sea, a UK-based organisation running campaigns to stop plastic pollution, and tells us what they have been observing. And Sue Elias, who is part of a group of volunteers who pick litter around Cardiff in South Wales says they are also seeing an increase in the amount of plastic being left behind by people.
