Episode 328 – Interviewing Others

In this episode, we talk about the skill of interviewing. That may not seem relevant to you if you do not need to interview now. It is relevant because every conversation can be viewed in an interview and there is much to learn about communications from the simple tools of interviewing. First of all, we need to learn to listen. Not just hear what is being said, but to really listen in between the lines of all the words that are spoken. So often, we listen to respond or to argue. Then we miss the essence of the communication. Besides listening, we have the opportunity to be coached, or to gather life learnings in every conversation. To find those nuggets we need to be looking.
