The Fasting Highway - Podcast tekijän mukaan Graeme Currie - Sunnuntaisin

I am 52 years young (!) living in rural area in Quebec, Canada near Montreal.  I am blessed to have a beautiful family with 2 daughters who are 12 and 14 and my wife we shared lives together since 1995. I have struggled with my weight all my life. I currently work as a professional engineer keeping busy with implementing and operating industrial composting facilities to make quality. compost from municipal food wastes and green wastes. As a teenager I was very active working on dairy farms, riding.my bike and kept busy all the time.  Entering University, I was spotted by the Athletics department and was directed to their rugby team which I trained for and played during the first year.  But I dropped this from 2nd year because studying for my engineering training became too much intense.  My energy expenditures lowered but it seems not my food (and beer!) intake… and weight started to add on.  In August 2006, I threw down the sink my last can of soda! In January 2008 had a gall bladder attack.  I needed surgery in May and was told I had very fatty liver and I should lose weight on low lipid diet.  Did not work. I’m 6ft (183cm) tall and highest weight was then 330lbs (150kg) from my medical record.  In 2013, I suffered severe gout attack.  Again, I should lose weight...Then in 2014, I came across Dr Robert Lustig in Sugar: The Bitter Truth.  I threw adder sugar and processed foods out of the kitchen. I read Dr. Fung’s Diabetes Code in Summer 2020 and learnt about fasting for health and weight loss for the first time.  And on August 24th,2020 I fasted 24h for 1st time in my life.  But I did not know about clean fasting back then, so it was not sustainable the way I implemented it.  On 1st October 2022, after reading The Fasting Highway by Graeme Currie, I resumed (now clean) fasting, doing OMAD 23-1,7/7.  And that has been a true Eureka moment, on a path to a healthy new me!
